Kwantlen Hosts Language Festival
Kwantlen University College is holding a language week - complete with music, dance, bilingual poetry reading, story telling and ethnic cuisine - from Wednesday, March 12 to Friday, March 14 at the Richmond Campus on Lansdowne Road.


Breast Self-Examination Clinic
Nurses will teach breast self-examination at the Steveston community centre on Saturday, March 15 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Appointments: 279-7150.


Brian Evans' Mall Performance
Richmond singer Brian Evan will be performing a few songs from his latest CD Quite, Frankly, at Richmond Centre Mall on Friday, April 4 at 4 p.m. He will also be signing his CD at HMV Record Store.


Cycling for a cure
The Delta Vancouver Airport Hotel and Marina will be the site of The Diabetes Research Foundation for its seventh annual Ride for Diabetes fund-raiser on Friday, May 2. The premise is to have four team members ride ten minutes each on a stationary bike after having collected pledges. Info: Gordon Johnson at 278-1241.


Homma Craft and Garden Fair
A quality, juried craft and plant sale will be held at Homma elementary school on Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Along with free master gardener and veterinary advice, a silent auction and raffle prizes will highlight the event. Info: Linda 277-9799 or Susan 271-0145.


Rummage Sale
Gateway Theatre's 4th Annual Musical Theatre Summer Day Camp Beginner/Intermediate camp: singing, dancing and acting, this three-week camp runs July 3-25, and concludes with two evening presentations at Gateway Theatre on July 24 & 25; Advanced Camp (July 28-Aug. 22) designed for students with Musical Theatre experience. rehearsals and preparation for the final public presentations (Aug. 21 & 22) will be an integral part.
