Children's Festival
Sept. 13, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Minoru park plaza, 7700 Minoru Gate, featuring Ronald McDonald magic show, recycling show, Operation Family Identification, arts and crafts by Richmond Art Gallery, Richmond Museum and Richmond Nature Park, the Earthling's Boogie Woogie Washboard Band, kids-only swap meet bike riding demonstration, Chapters story tent and more. Nibbles & Bites
A festival of food at Thompson community centre, Sept. 6, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sept. 7, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. All welcome to taste samples offered by Richmond restaurants. Beer and wine garden, children's carnival (to 5 p.m. both days), entertainment, craft fair and exhibitors' booths in the gym. Also, three-on-three basketball tourney (sign-up forms and info available at Thompson), volleyball on the Burnett field and more.


38th Annual Country Fair
Hosted by South Arm United Church, the fair includes a silent auction, food and bargains galore, Sept. 20, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Free parking and admission.


Multifest '97
Fun for all ages - get a taste of the world, experience the showcase of multicultural entertainment, foods, games and displays, at Cambie community centre, 4111 Jacombs Rd., Sept. 21, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.


St. Alban's Neighborhood Fair
Sept. 27, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 7260 St. Alban's Rd., featuring lunch as Charis' Cafe, mini concerts, craft and prerserves sales, fun and games for kids and adults.


Rockfest '97
Five local youth bands will showcase their musical talents in the Steveston community centre, Nov. 8, 4-10 p.m. Event is open to all youths. Local youth bands are invited to submit demo tapes to Suzanne at the centre by Sept. 18 for a chance to take part in the fest. Also, planning committee members wanted Info: Suzanne at 277-6812.
