Computers at RPL

Richmond Public Library has over 100 computers for access to the Internet and software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Computers are free to use with a valid Richmond Public Library card and can be booked online or by phoning your branch. Every library cardholder can have up to two hours a day. Computer Booking System

Here are some new features:

  • Automatic booking extensions (when availability permits)
    You will no longer have to go to the desk to ask for time extensions.
  • Make a Scheduled Booking
    Because of the automatic extensions, we recommend booking a computer station in advance, rather than depending on the availability of walk-up bookings.
  • Future bookings can be made at 15 minute intervals rather than on the hour.
  • Early sign on
    The system will allow you to sign on early to an unused station you have booked. Can trade a future booked session for a walk-up session when logging in.
  • You can no longer book a specific computer within a specific area.

Wireless Internet

Wireless Internet access for laptops is available throughout every Richmond Public Library branch.

Headphones at Library Computers

The library does not provide headphones for the adult computers. Please bring your own. Thank you!
