CCTV Machines

Designed with the low vision user in mind, the CCTV (closed-circuit television) machine is a desktop video magnifier. Reading, writing and your favourite hobby are made easier with this machine.

Located in the Digital Reference room on the 2nd floor of the Brighouse (Main) Branch, the machine is available for use free of charge. Staff are on hand to demonstrate to first time users.

Generously sponsored by our Friends of the Library.

Wheelchairs

Two wheelchairs are available for customers at the Brighouse (Main) Branch who may require some help getting around the building, or for transporting from the library to the parkade. One is a lightweight transport model which requires someone to assist with pushing, and the other model can be self-propelled.

The chairs are stored behind the Library Cards and Accounts desk on the main floor. Each chair can be checked out with a library card for two hours.

Home Services

Please see our Home Services page for our home delivery service of library materials to disabled, elderly, and homebound customers.

Our library also has an Audio Books service that provides special library materials such as books on CD and DAISY discs of full-length books for customers who are unable to visit the library.
