The Alzheimer Society of BC exists to alleviate the personal and social consequences of Alzheimer Disease and related dementias, to promote public awareness and to search for the causes and the cures. A non-profit organization serving the needs of Chinese youth and students. They assist youth to find their educational and vocational direction. The AFC tries to bridge the communication gap between youth and their parents by helping parents understand the educational system in Canada. Their services include free academic consulting, workshops about the educational system, providing a variety of educational information, free drop-in tutoring services and volunteering opportunities.

The Chinese Cultural Centre is a non-profit organization whose membership is open to all. The Centre offers different classes and clubs for people with different interests. The Centre also provides services to the community and aims to promote the Chinese culture through various events. Services are available in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Program(s):
Cantonese / Mandarin Program for Youth
Heritage language programs designed for youth aged four and up. Preschool to senior high levels equivalent to those in Hong Kong are offered.
ESL for Cantonese or Mandarin Speakers
Helps new immigrants learn English. The focus is on speaking and daily use.
Income Tax Clinic
For seniors and low-income individuals. Held every year during tax season, usually in March and April. Sign up for the clinic in early February. Service in Chinese and English. There is no fee for this service, but donations are accepted. Call about dates and times.
Interest Classes
The Chinese Cultural Centre offers a wide variety of classes for people of all ages, including Chinese calligraphy, painting, dance, and flower arrangement. Please call for more details.

The Association is a registered charity established in 1995 to help empower those with mental challenges by supporting them to recover to achieve self reliance and to reduce the social stigma against mental illness. It provides mental health consumers and their family members mental health support services in Mandarin and Cantonese. The Association also promotes mental wellness by providing monthly mental health education workshops, outreach visits, individual and group counselling, mental health training for volunteers, advocacy, family support groups, festival gatherings, and a telephone support line. The Association also offers referral services and networks with communities to raise public awareness of mental illness for prevention and early intervention.

A non-profit Christian charity that aims at nurturing a new generation of Chinese-Canadian leaders through providing training and volunteering opportunities to young people, develop their leadership potential and a positive community life. Enoch currently has over 40 regular volunteers participating in various teams. Enoch employs a strong intergenerational approach to youth work, encouraging and equipping adults to be mentors for young people.

Richmond Career Center provides a full range of employment services to immigrant job seekers, which includes one-on-one employment counselling in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Punjabi, Hindi, Russian or Vietnamese; applications for Employment Insurance training funds, referrals to Targeted Wage Subsidy; and job search workshops. Their job placement services provide matches between employers and job seekers. The drop-in Resource Centre is equipped with computers, Internet access, laser printers, phone, fax, photocopier, up-to-date job posting, and reference materials. This program is funded by Service Canada. All services are free.

"Return on Inclusion" Workplace Series
Workshops are designed to address racism, multiculturalism, and diversity issues in the workplace. Workshop topics include: diversity basics, hiring for diversity, cross-cultural conflict resolution, and white privilege.
Chai At Chaupal
Free program for South Asian seniors to relax, have tea, share ideas and opinions, discuss general topics and volunteer. Mondays from 10:30am - 12:30pm at the India Cultural Centre, 8600 No.5 Road, Richmond and Tuesdays from 12:00pm - 2:00pm at the Cambie Community Centre Boardroom, 12800 Cambie Road, Richmond.
Diversity Assessment Services
RMCS can assess your business or organization to provide feedback on policy, hiring procedure, accessibility and staff/client experience in relation to diversity and inclusion. A report is provided with suggestions and referrals.
English Conversation Classes
English conversation classes for immigrant men and women, led by qualified teachers. Classes are offered weekly on Tuesday mornings and/or Thursday evenings.
Grandparenting in Canada Program

Richmond,  In partnership with Richmond Family Place, this program is designed to empower grandparents to lead a healthy and productive life while taking care of their grandchildren. We will provide grandparents of children 0-12 with skills and information on grandparenting in a new country and culture. The topics cover fire safety, emergency preparedness, parenting, discipline, etc. Childminding will also be provided by qualified Family Place staff. Sessions for Filipino grandparents are held on Saturdays from 4:00pm-5:30pm, sessions for South Asian grandparents are held on Mondays from 10:30am-12:30pm, and sessions for Chinese grandparents are held on Thursdays from 9:30am-11:30am. All sessions take place at DeBeck House, 8600 Ash Street, Richmond.
Income Tax Clinics
Income tax filing services are provided in March and April to low income individuals and families, seniors and newcomers by trained volunteers.
Information and Referral Services - Settlement Service

Offers services to newcomers in 12 different languages. Includes information on housing, settlement, adaptation, transportation, health care, education, and employment. Also provides interpretation and translation and helps newcomers fill out basic forms.
Labour Market Services
RMCS Labour Market Services facilitates career planning for newcomer clients, and liaises with participating employers and agencies in the BC Community. We provide labour market information, computer access for job search purposes, a weekly updated Job Board, and one-on-one employment counselling, classes or workshops on topics in career planning and job readiness.
LEAD Program
A certificate program held twice a year (February and September) consisting of 24 sessions held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, in partnership with the Pacific Immigrant Services Society (PIRS). Assists immigrant women to gain confidence in their ability to participate in an English-speaking Canadian context and encourages community involvement. The program is open to immigrant women who wish to share their experiences with other women. Basic English is required.
Multicultural Seniors Group
A weekly get-together provides an opportunity for seniors to socialize and interact with each other and receive information in an informal, relaxed, and friendly environment. Meetings are held every Wednesday afternoon.
Multicultural Women's Group
A support group for women. Speakers discuss topics chosen by the group. Meetings are held in the afternoon on the third week of every month (except July and August). An opportunity to make friends and practice your English.
Richmond in 3D (Diversity, Dialogue, Drama) Program
This program addresses creating a more inclusive community through interactive theatre techniques and dialogue. Workshops are available to community organizations and businesses.
Surfing Grannies
Seniors' six week certificate course in Computers offered in partnership with Microsoft Canada Development Centre. Learn basic facts about hardware and software, use applications like Notepad, Calculator and Solitare. Learn how to research information on the internet and send e-mail.
The Safe Harbour Program
The Safe Harbour Program promotes an inclusive BC that celebrates strong, vibrant, and diverse communities. As one of 31 Safe Harbour Organizers, RMCS facilitates Safe Harbour training sessions for staff from publicly accessible businesses, financial institutions, non-profit agencies, government offices, community policing centres, libraries, youth centres, and other workplaces. These 2-hour training sessions create an understanding of diversity and inclusion issues as participants are given insight into how diverse community members might experience living in their community. Safe Harbours commit to Equitable treatment for all, providing a "safe harbour" and preparing employees to welcome and celebrate diversity.
Youth Education, Employment and Empowerment Services (YES)
The Yes Program operated by The Richmond Multicultural Concerns Society is a program for youth 15-25 years old and that have been in Canada for 5 years or less. The Yes Program is a free program. We offer job training, educational counselling, settlement support, ESL, a connection the community and recreational & sports activities. S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is the bridge between the immigrant and the community at-large. Board and staff members of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. sit on many consultative and advisory boards and committees organized by the three levels of government and public organizations. Areas of interest or concern covered by these board and committees include human rights, public order, crime prevention, children protection, health, education, welfare and employment services.

Due to the rapid growth in the senior population in Vancouver, there was an urgent need for a culturally appropriate care facility for Chinese speaking seniors. In 1995, the SUCCESS Multi-Level Care Society was incorporated with the purpose of establishing linguistically and culturally appropriate care for those seniors in our community. It has now developed into a provider of quality residential care and health services. Programs and services include: SUCCESS Simon K.Y. Administers the Public Schools Act from kindergarten through grade 12. School District No. 38 (Richmond) offers Early French Immersion, Late French Immersion and Montessori Programs. Placement in an Alternate Program will be determined through a district-wide draw process, with sibling priority. Parents/legal guardians new to the district must first register their child in person at their neighbourhood school, then, request and fill out the Alternate Programs application before the draw deadline.

Shalom BC is a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive information concerning mainly Jewish topics and the Jewish Community. Our goal is to assist each person who contacts our office to obtain accurate and prompt information to their question or to link them with appropriate services through other community agencies or organizations. Shalom BC plays an important role in connecting newcomers to the Jewish community. Newcomers are presented with a kit consisting of information about the Jewish and general communities tailored to suit their individual needs. Shalom BC’s volunteer centre offers community agencies recruitment and referral of volunteers to enhance and support them in carrying out their work. For more information Call 604-257-5181.

Tickets To Inclusion
Tickets To Inclusion is a program aimed at providing Jewish people who have low income the opportunity to access social, cultural and recreational events. Tickets to the events are donated either by different organizations in the Jewish community or the general community or by individuals in the Jewish community, and are given to people who may otherwise be excluded from such events.
Volunteer Centre
The volunteer centre offers community agencies recruitment and referral of volunteers to enhance and support them in carrying out their work. Our database consists of diverse skill sets from people aged 14 - 90 years old; people wishing to volunteer on a very occasional basis to those wanting a regular commitment; from mail out assistants to professional consultation. Everyone is invited to be involved in our community volunteer services. We have single, group, or family opportunities.
