2009 Lego Contest

Our first ever Lego Contest was held on November 14, 2009 to celebrate Canadian Children's Book Week. 56 kids aged eight to twelve participated and they used Lego to create their favourite scene or character from a book. Participants had 45 minutes to build their projects, then presented their creations to the audience. It was a fun-filled afternoon, with more than 150 spectators of friends, families and the general public.

Winners:

Best Construction: (see picture)
Virus by Nicholas Lai and Ryan Nah, based on the book Things You Can't See Can Make You Sick

Best Representation of a Book: (see picture)
Ares and Gregor by Emily Chen, based on the series The Underland Chronicles

Audience Favourite: (see picture)
Ruins of Cair Paravel by Nathanael Sparrow, based on the book Prince Caspian
