Richmond, BC – Celebrate Pride Week in Richmond from Monday, July 28 to Sunday, August 3. Enjoy a variety of free, all-ages activities, including film screenings, fitness classes, Drag Queen Story Time, Drag Queen Karaoke for children and youth, and talks with 2SLGBTQI+ community leaders.
“Summer reading activities build literacy skills and encourage a lifelong love of reading”, says Denise Hui, Library Board Chair. “Last year, over 4,000 children, teens and adults participated in our Summer Reading Clubs and I want to invite community members from across Richmond to join us again this summer as the library continues to create opportunities to learn, connect and belong.”
“The City of Richmond invites everyone to recognize and celebrate 2SLGBTQI+ communities during this year’s Pride Week events,” said Mayor Malcolm Brodie. “Our 2025 theme, Pride Lives Here, highlights Richmond’s commitment to inclusion and affirms that 2SLGBTQI+ communities are a vital part of our city. Take part in activities throughout the city and join us in celebrating that Pride truly lives here—during Pride Week and all year long.”
The Progressive Pride Flag will be displayed at City Hall throughout the week in a show of solidarity and support for Richmond’s 2SLGBTQI+ communities.
Over 15 Pride Week events are presented by the City of Richmond and Richmond Public Library, in partnership with Community Associations and Societies.
Some highlights of the week’s events are listed below. Registration is required for some activities, as spaces are limited and fill up quickly.
